Welcome to Petra House! We hope you have a wonderful stay with us in Galway. We’ve put together this page with everything you may need during your stay, from Wi-Fi and breakfast information to getting around Galway and checking out. If there’s anything else you need, just let us know — we’re always happy to help.
WI-FI
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout Petra House.
BREAKFAST
Breakfast is served from 7:50am to 9:15am.
Please complete a Breakfast Menu Sheet, which is available at check-in and before each morning of your stay.
Please let your hosts know of any dietary requirements or allergies.
Guests are welcome to enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast while their cooked breakfast is being prepared.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Guest rooms are available for check-in from 3:00pm to 9:00pm on the day of check inn.
We cannot guarantee early check-in or late check-out. If you plan to arrive outside our normal check-in hours, please contact us to request SMS check-in instructions.
If you arrive before your room is ready, we’ll be happy to store your luggage or allow you to park your vehicle, so you can explore Galway City while you wait.
Check-out is by 11:00am on the day of departure.
Please leave your key in your room or at the check-in desk by our front door.
Please leave your room door unlocked when checking out
PARKING
Limited complimentary parking is available at Petra House, approximately a 15-minute walk from Galway City Centre.
Parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be guaranteed.
Where possible, we kindly ask guests to reverse park to make entering and leaving the car park easier.
If you require assistance with parking, please ask your hosts who will be happy to assist.
If your vehicle is blocking another guest’s car, please leave your car key at our check-in desk so that we can move your vehicle if necessary
HOUSEKEEPING
As part of our commitment to a greener and more sustainable stay, we kindly ask guests to reuse towels where possible
Complimentary housekeeping is provided on the third night of your stay
If you would like fresh towels, simply leave your used towels outside your room and we will replace them with clean ones.
If you require additional toiletries or anything else during your stay, please let your hosts know and we’ll be happy to assist
OUR FAVOURITE PLACES IN GALWAY CITY
FOOD – The Huntsman Restaurant, just a 5-minute walk to the left of Petra House. We also recommend The King’s Head at the top of Quay Street in Galway City.
PUBS & LIVE MUSIC – Tigh Chóilí and Taffes for traditional Irish music, and The Crane Bar in Galway’s Westend for another great Galway music experience.
FAVOURITE STREET – Quay Street, approximately a 25-minute walk to the right of Petra House. A great place to experience the atmosphere of Galway City.
ROOM HEATING & HOT WATER
Heating and hot water are controlled by your hosts and maintained at a comfortable temperature. Please ask your hosts to turn on in room heating.
During colder periods, heating is provided throughout Petra House periodically during the day to maintain a comfortable temperature
Air conditioning is not provided in our guest rooms. If your room becomes too warm, you are welcome to open the windows as required. A fan is available on request during your stay.
HOUSE RULES
No smoking or vaping is permitted in our guest rooms. Charges may apply where there is evidence of smoking or vaping in a room or tampering with the smoke detector.
Please keep noise and television volume to a minimum after 10:00pm out of consideration for other guests.
If returning to Petra House late at night, please be considerate of other guests when entering the house and your room.
Please inform your hosts of any accidental damage to the room, furniture or other contents during your stay.
Charges may apply for missing or damaged items belonging to Petra House.
Only registered guests are permitted in guest rooms. Parties are not permitted at Petra House B&B.
